I graduated from a practical nursing program that had one of the top pass rates in the nation. A local hospital actively recruits graduates of this program because they have the knowledge and skills to be an asset to the organization. Maybe we should be looking more into the quality of the nursing programs being offered than the amount of time nurses spend as students.
