Abstract: Understanding different models of healthcare worldwide and examining the benefits and challenges of those systems can inform potential improvements in the US. This article compares healthcare coverage in the US and Japan with respect to legislation, healthcare system models, eligibility of coverage, financial expenditures, health resources, and quality of care.
