I would like to congratulate you on the outstanding January issue. "The Top 10 Myths About Medicare" (Making Sense of Medicare), the first article in a new series, was very timely and greatly appreciated. I agree that most nurses lack basic knowledge about Medicare. This and future articles on this entitlement program will benefit the profession and our patients.

I also applaud the new ANA column, The Politics of Caring. As chairperson of the Government Relations Committee of the Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Nurses, Inc., I use AJN as a source for politically relevant articles. This new ANA column will be a valuable resource and help to educate the novice nurse on the importance of legislation and policymaking.
