I am writing in regard to the article by Gerard and Walker (Vol 17, Issue 4). About Table 1, the University of New Mexico was left entirely out of the table, and the University of Nevada - Reno was incorrectly included under the New Mexico listing. The University of New Mexico continues to prepare CNSs and we are becoming more committed to the role and its preparation. We offer specialties in pediatrics, medical-surgical, critical care, gerontology, palliative care, oncology, psychiatric/mental health (child, adult, family, and forensics), and pulmonary. Also, I found it interesting that schools are listing adult health as a specialty, since the American Nurses Credentialing Center has no certifying examination for that specialty.
