Congress passes bipartisan dental care law. Signed into law by President Trump in December, the Action for Dental Health Act of 2018 intends to improve education on oral health and dental disease prevention, establish "dental homes" for children and adults, expand dental care for nursing home residents, and reduce ED visits for problems that are better treated in a primary care dental setting. Under the law, the federal government will award grants to or contract with public health officials and other interested parties to develop programs to meet these goals.
