JOIN THE DISCUSSION, EARN CE ARTICLE. JOURNAL CLUB

Every quarter, JCN editors invite readers to dialogue online about a journal article. Journal Club features nurse authors with experise in the article topic who lead the hour-long online discussion. Readers from all over the United States have participated, offering their insights, asking questions, and sharing nursing experiences on the topic.

Participating in the quarterly Journal Club opens the opportunity to chew over a pertinent subject-belief systems that impact patient care, faith community nursing, and nursing from a Christian perspective-and earn continuing education. Participants who want to earn CE read two articles from a recommended reading list ahead of time, then log on to the call at the scheduled time.

Journal Club is one more NCF member benefit-participants must be NCF members to obtain the free CE. A side benefit is dialoguing with other nurses about topics that meld faith and practice, and sometimes branch into ongoing discussions after Journal Club concludes.

Interested? Be sure your NCF membership is up to date. Members receive an invitation via email when the next Journal Club is scheduled, along with the featured JCN article, nurse facilitators, and the recommended reading list.

ERRATUM

An error was made regarding the credentials for Amy Beasley, DNP. She was mistakenly noted as PhD for the article, "Students Learn Curando el Cuerpo-urando el Alma: Healing the Body-Healing the Soul," in JCN issue 35:2. Every effort is made to provide correct credentials. We apologize for the error.

IDEAS, INSPIRATION, INSIGHTS ON THE NCF BLOG

The menu is diverse on the NCF blog. Have you checked in there lately? Readers can gain inspiration through spiritually-based content, such as Bangladeshi nurse leader Bulbuli Mollick's acronym for scripturally managing stress. From NCF nurse and student groups, discover novel ideas to invigorate and expand-or begin-your own group. Expert JCN authors, including nurse ethicist Marsha Fowler and NCF leaders, converse about ethics, surmounting challenges, and faith community nursing. If you want to be notified of new blog posts, you can sign up for an email announcement at http://eepurl.com/c-nSfL.

Readers can share blog posts on their healthcare and faith community social media sites. Just be sure to attribute the content to Nurses Christian Fellowship and the NCF blog.

Do you have a suggestion for a blog post? We welcome input for possible posts, such as NCF group ideas and activities that have worked for your group, so other nurses and students can creatively reach their communities or nurse/student populations. Maybe you sense God saying you should share your personal story of how you have witnessed him at work in your life as a result of NCF involvement.

Contact Cathy Walker, JCN associate editor, with your input and responses.
