PersonalFit* breastshields from Medela, Inc., provide added comfort to breatpumping mothers with larger nipple sizes. The two-piece breastshield comes in both a 27mm and 30mm size, along with a connector that attaches the breastshield to the collection container.The breastshield and connector detach easily for cleaning and storage, are dishwasher-safe and the connectors fit all universal-threaded baby bottles. Breastfeeding professionals have communicated the need for a larger selection of breastshields, beyond the regular size (24mm) and small insert (21mm), to accommodate the widely varying nipple sizes of their clients. In tests with the PersonalFit breastshield, mothers reported improved fit and greater comfort that help to ensure better overall breastpumping results.

When a monitored infant is brought near an exit or the strap is cut or tampered with, the system identifies the baby by name, locks the door and reports the attempted exit to the nurse station panel. This panel displays the infant's name, room number and the exit location.
