AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals 5.0 mg/ml Naropin in Polyamp DuoFit Containers

AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP introduces a 5.0 mg/ml strength Naropin (ropivacaine HCl injection) in 10-ml and 20-ml Polyamp DuoFit containers. These innovative plastic containers for local anesthetics may reduce the risk of needlesticks and lacerations to healthcare professionals. Polyamp DuoFit is a prefilled, shatter-resistant, polypropylene container designed to connect directly to Luer-Lok and tapered syringes. This packaging provides for needle-free withdrawal of anesthetics, which may decrease the risk of accidental needlesticks and lacerations. The container is latex-free and features a twist-off top compatible with both Luer-Lok and tapered syringes. Naropin is available in 2.0, 5.0, 7.5, and 10.0 mg/ml concentrations. Each concentration is manufactured in two sizes, 10 ml and 20 ml, and comes in packages of five. Xylocaine-MPF (lidocaine HCl injection) also is available in Polyamp DuoFit containers, in 1%, 1.5%, and 2% concentrations. The 1% and 1.5% concentrations are manufactured in 10-ml and 20-ml containers, in packages of five. The 2% concentration is produced in a 10-ml container, in packages of five.
