MANUAL RING BINDER
Carstens, Inc., introduces its imprinted HIPAA manual ring binder to keep HIPAA guidelines close-at-hand and protect this often-accessed information. Made of a durable copolymer material to withstand heavy daily use, the three-inch thick ring binder is available in red or black. To further protect HIPAA guidelines and make referencing information sections faster and easier, nurses may order customized polyethylene ring binder divider sheets, selecting color, tab size and position, color sequence, and title formats that best fit their facility's specific requirements.

CATHETER ACCESS PROTECTOR
SDA Products, Inc., offers the Shower C.A.P. (Catheter Access Protector dressing) so that patients with an indwelling catheter can resume normal daily activities without fear of infection. The Shower C.A.P. is a single-use, sterile-packaged catheter access protector dressing consisting of an inner four-layer protective patch to protect the exit wound site and a sealed film pouch to protect the catheter hub and cap ends. This complete inner dressing is surrounded with an adhesive border that secures the dressing, offering protection from exposure to external fluid and debris. An outer water-resistant anchoring shield/tarp is surrounded by another adhesive border that additionally secures the complete inner dressing and diverts the flow of water and debris away from the complete inner dressing.

NEEDLE PROTECTION SYSTEM
Terumo Medical Corporation announces SurGuard2, which enhances compliance with needlestick safety standards. The device has a unique needle-locking mechanism. An audible click lets the user know that the device is activated and ensures the needle will remain fully engaged in the sheath. The user can activate the safety mechanism with one hand. SurGuard2 offers a thinner, more streamlined sheath, reduced "dead space," a ratchet mechanism that allows the sheath to be positioned so it doesn't obscure the injection site, and a bevel-up, sheath-right needle orientation that allows for low-angle injections.
