Abstract
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this pilot study was to determine whether a brief educational video administered online improved nurse practitioners' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding skin cancer and skin cancer prevention counseling. Participants completed an online test assessing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors, before and after viewing an online video. Thirty Arizona nurse practitioners completed the pilot study. There were statistically significant increases from the pretest to the posttest for all main variables. This pilot study found that the online intervention was highly effective for improving nurse practitioners' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding skin cancer and skin cancer prevention counseling.
