An online course platform aims to improve international emergency responses. OpenWHO, an interactive, web-based platform of free courses in emergency response, has been launched by the World Health Organization. It includes eight courses, and three additional courses are in planning stages. Topics range from general communication essentials to resources for responders dealing with diseases such as Ebola. Each topic is divided into modules that cover specific issues such as dealing with the media during an emergency situation and how to protect personal health and safety when responding to an epidemic.
