This book is a comprehensive overview of the many facets of nursing education. Notably, the author successfully integrates the traditional foundational material necessary for the educator and quickly moves to topics related to applying this knowledge in a variety of settings. This book would be appropriate for use in preparing advanced practice nurses in the educator role in client teaching and in health promotion/disease prevention activities. It also could be used as a text for preparing nurse faculty in all academic settings. The purpose of this book is to prepare nurses for their expanded role in educating the client, health education, and health promotion. Additionally, this text is broad in scope and would be appropriate for students in nursing education programs. The content is logically organized and flows congruently from foundational educational concepts to clinical application. Of significance is the content focused on the advanced practice role in educating the client and participation in health education and health promotion. The book also offers cutting-edge teaching/learning strategies geared toward the use of technology. I highly recommend this book as a required text in a CNS and/or NP program. It would also serve as an excellent resource for nursing education in general.
