It is a pleasure to announce that two former JNPT Editorial Board Members, Valerie Pomeroy and Theresa Ellis, have been appointed as Associate Editors, and an outstanding reviewer, Teresa Jacobson Kimberley, has been appointed to the Editorial Board.
International Editor: Valerie Pomeroy, GradDipPhys, PhD, FCSP
Dr Pomeroy is Professor of Neurorehabilitation at the University of East Anglia in the UK, where she leads a research team focusing primarily on using physical interventions to restore movement control and functional ability for stroke survivors. Current clinical trials combine behavioral, neurophysiological, and biomechanical investigations of well-characterized physical interventions, with the aim of evaluating clinical efficacy together with identification of indicators and the underlying mechanisms of response. Professor Pomeroy is also the co-Chair of the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Alliance, which networks clinicians, clinical researchers, and discovery scientists based in universities and clinical services in Cambridge and Norwich and their geographical areas in the East of England. In 2002, Dr Pomeroy was awarded the Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy for her research contribution to the physical therapy profession.
Associate Editor: Terry Ellis, PhD, PT, NCS
Dr Ellis is Assistant Professor at Boston University, College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training and the Director of the Center for Neurorehabilitation at Boston University. Dr Ellis also serves as the Director of the American Parkinson Disease Association National Rehabilitation Resource Center housed at Boston University. Her research focuses on investigating the impact of exercise and rehabilitation on the progression of disability in individuals with Parkinson disease. She has a particular interest in identifying barriers to exercise and developing interventions to help persons with Parkinson disease overcome these barriers to engage in lifelong exercise.
Editorial Board Member: Teresa Jacobson Kimberley, PT, PhD
Dr Kimberley is Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Programs in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in Minneapolis, MN. She is a clinical science researcher with focus in rehabilitation research for dystonia, stroke, and other neurologic motor disorders. She is co-director of the Brain Plasticity Lab, which has helped to pioneer the use of noninvasive brain stimulation and neuroimaging in the investigation of rehabilitation-related research. She serves on the Foundation for Physical Therapy Scientific Review Committee and as Associate Editor at Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience. She has recently served as the Director of Research for the Neurology Section.
