JNPT Welcomes New Associate Editor Catherine Lang, PT, PhD
Dr. Lang is an Assistant Professor in the Program in Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis. She received her bachelor's and master's degree in physical therapy in 1993 and 1997, respectively, from the University of Vermont, and her PhD in movement science in 2001 from Washington University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester in 2004. Dr. Lang's research focuses on sensorimotor control of the upper extremity in human health and disease, recovery of hand function after stroke, neural and biomechanical factors influencing independent finger movement, and motor learning and task specific practice. She is the director of the Sensorimotor Control of the Upper Extremity Laboratory. Dr. Lang's research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Foundation for Physical Therapy, Washington University, McDonnell Center for Systems Neuroscience, and HealthSouth. She has served JNPT authors and readers as an outstanding reviewer for many years, and in 2007 she received the Golden Synapse Award for the best article in the JNPT. We are very pleased to welcome her to the Editorial Board of JNPT.
