Abstract
Abstract: The purposes of this study were to evaluate safety active learning approaches with baccalaureate nursing students and to examine differences between students with and without nursing assistant experience. The approaches evaluated were patient safety modules, making a safety poster, and planning/attending a safety conference. Using a pretest/posttest design, students' patient safety knowledge, perceived safety skills, and attitudes were evaluated with the Healthcare Professional Patient Safety Assessment Curriculum Survey (HPPSACS). Findings suggested that employment as a nurse assistant had a significant effect on posttest HPPSACS scores.
