Thank you for the article on the Holy Family Birth Center in Weslaco, Texas (Nurses Making a Difference, October). Sister Angela Murdaugh and her colleagues have succeeded in providing excellent health care to rural migrant laborers, a population otherwise underserved and neglected in this country.

Sister Angela did not mention whether Holy Family Birth Center also includes information about contraception and family planning in its postpartum programs. Its Web site (http://www.holyfamilybirthcenter.com) does not provide information on this important aspect of obstetric and gynecologic teaching.

Migrant laborers and other low-income patients deserve access to information about the full range of family planning methods, which is readily available to the more privileged members of our society.
