I think a possible solution would be to add language to nursing contracts that specifically addresses unprofessional behavior toward new grads, students, and other employees. Likewise, students should also sign professional behavior contracts. I fully understand and sympathize with nurses who get a bunch of difficult patients and then a bunch of know-it-all students comes in demanding more time. There needs to be better planning. If the behavior is just because they're new grads, then there should be consequences for their actions.
