Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation Announces over $50,000 in Research Grant Opportunities
The Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation (RNF) announces the availability of four research grants totaling over $50,000 in funding:
The Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation (RNF) offers funding of up to $15,000 for rehabilitation nursing research, which is awarded in the form of multiple grants. A New Investigator Award, offered to encourage nurses who are novice researchers, will be awarded for up to $5,000. Up to two grants from the remaining amount will be awarded to recipients who will be designated RNF Research Fellows.
Mentor HealthCare, Inc. will provide $13,500 in funding, which may be awarded in the form of multiple grants, for nursing research into bladder management, bladder cancer, and urinary dysfunction.
Aventis Pharmaceuticals will provide $18,000 in funding, which may be awarded in the form of multiple grants, for nursing research into the area of thrombosis.
Sigma Theta Tau International and RNF co-sponsor a grant that provides one recipient $6,000 in support of research related to rehabilitation nursing.
The Sigma Theta Tau International/ RNF grant proposal must be postmarked by April 1, 2002. All other proposals must be postmarked by February 1, 2002. Association of Rehabilitation Nurses Offers Professional Rehabilitation Nursing Course
The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) announces the Professional Rehabilitation Nursing Course, the educational course designed specifically for today's leading rehabilitation and restorative nurses. The course, being offered May 1-5, 2002 in Scottsdale, AZ, and again August 21-25, 2002 in Lake Buena Vista, FL, is ideal for registered nurses new to rehabilitation or interested in entering the rehabilitation practice, as well as for educators or nurse managers who are responsible for implementing rehabilitation principles and services. This course also serves as an excellent review for nurses preparing to take Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN((R)) exam.
The course program identifies current concepts of rehabilitation nursing and their practical application to daily practice. Nurses will learn to incorporate rehabilitation principles as an integral part of nursing practice and plan client-centered care for positive outcomes using current rehabilitation nursing knowledge. Nurses will also be able to identify nursing interventions for rehabilitation clients and families that will meet individual needs as well as examine settings where the continuum of rehabilitation nursing care occurs.
The registration fee is $575 for ARN members, $700 for nonmembers, and includes five days of instruction, a comprehensive course manual, continental breakfasts, and a reception the first evening.
