Gathering buy-in and acceptance of a process enhancement is critical to the success of any change. Although leaders often gravitate toward using a top-down approach to continuous improvement, you'll encounter much less resistance when solutions originate from the bottom up, where frontline nurses are empowered to discuss challenges and produce real implementable solutions. Executives often make the argument that leaders are paid to make decisions and take risks, and involving frontline staff takes too long
