During 2017, we will observe the 40th anniversary of INS' partnership with our publisher, Wolters Kluwer/Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. To mark this milestone, we have given the Journal a new look. While the Journal's appearance has changed, our commitment to adding to the art and science of the infusion specialty and publishing high-quality articles has not.
In celebration of this anniversary, we are introducing a new column in the Journal, "Perspectives from INS Partners." Throughout the year, each column will be written by a different INS partner. At INS, we believe in the power of partnerships. We have been fortunate to have forged strong affiliations with a number of organizations throughout the years, and while we and our partners may work in different fields, our shared goals of meeting the needs of INS members and the infusion community are paramount. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, it is fitting that the first contributor to the Journal's new column is Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
Working closely with Lippincott, INS has continuously expanded its vision and reinvented the Journal to meet the changing information needs of our readers. No longer just a print publication, the Journal is available electronically, as an iPad app, and offers a multimedia experience with the addition of digital video content. Much like the infusion specialty, the Journal has kept pace with the technological changes the publishing community has undergone. This is where having Lippincott as a partner has greatly enhanced our ability to reach a global readership. They have invested greatly in technology, enabling us to invest in our expanding readership. During the past four decades, the Journal's reach has extended far beyond the United States, engaging readers and receiving submissions from infusion specialists around the world.
Is it any wonder the Journal is consistently ranked INS' No. 1 member benefit?
INS has a responsibility to advance the specialty practice. We are able to do this through the publication of new research, clinical articles, and case studies. The number of manuscripts submitted continues to grow each year. While most of its articles address issues relevant to infusion practice, the Journal often includes articles on professional nursing issues or those that have an impact on health care in general.
At this time for making resolutions, INS proposes one for you: Make the most of your Journal experience! On our part, we resolve to continue to produce a highly respected publication that will enhance your practice and the lives of those you care for.
We hope you like our new look. As always, we enjoy hearing from you, so contact us if you have comments or questions about the Journal. We look forward to them and to the next 40 years of the Journal of Infusion Nursing!
