Abstract

Many with tinnitus do not receive recommended treatment. A study published online July 21 in JAMA Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery found that among 75,764 participants in the 2007 National Health Interview Survey, only 49% of those who reported tinnitus discussed their tinnitus with a physician, and 85% never tried any treatment.
