Susan Bakewell-Sachs, PhD, RN, FAAN Neonatal Editor 2004-2016:The Journal of Perinatal & Neonatal Nursing
Susan Bakewell-Sachs joined The Journal of Perinatal & Neonatal Nursing (JPNN) in 2004. During her 12-year tenure as Neonatal Editor for JPNN, Susan has advanced the neonatal section of JPNN enormously. She has expanded the neonatal section, secured high-quality clinical and research manuscripts, and laid the foundation for a neonatal section competitive with other neonatal publications.
Susan has been a wonderful colleague and coeditor, truly reflecting the collaborative relationship envisioned by the cofounders when the idea for JPNN was first conceived. At that time, it was hoped that a collaborative voice in the nursing literature could support both nursing specialties and 2 coeditors. Clearly, Susan has been an integral part of making this vision a reality. She is an exemplary model of collaboration in support of both perinatal and neonatal specialties.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our respected colleague and editor. Her vision for the neonatal section during the last 12 years has added to JPNN's success. We will miss her at the helm. We wish her continued success in her professional career.
