It is my great pleasure to welcome two new editors to the CIN team. Susan Alexander, DNP, ANP-BC, ADM-BC, will serve as Editor for CIN Plus, while Heather Carter-Templeton, PhD, RN-BC, will be the Editor for ANI Connection. Both started in their new roles in mid-May 2016.
Dr Alexander is a clinical associate professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). She is a board-certified adult health nurse practitioner and also certified in advanced diabetes management. Dr Alexander has an interest and expertise in mobile health applications in chronic disease management, as well as diabetes, adult health, and distance education methods and outcomes. She has been on the faculty at UAH since 2009. Dr Alexander earned a BSN, MSN, and DNP from UAH and a postmaster's adult nurse practitioner certificate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr Alexander has been a member of the CIN Editorial Board since 2015. For the past year, she has been writing a regular column for CNS: The Journal for Advanced Practice Nursing. In 2015, she was a recipient of the Suzanne Smith Mentoring Editor Award from the International Academy of Nursing Editors.
Dr Carter-Templeton is an assistant professor at the Capstone College of Nursing, University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She is board certified in nursing informatics and teaches informatics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr Carter-Templeton has conducted research in the areas of information literacy and healthcare information technology. She has been on the faculty at UA since 2010. Dr Carter-Templeton earned a BSN from UAH, MSN from Vanderbilt University, and PhD from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She also has a teaching nursing certification from Indiana University.
Dr Carter-Templeton has been a member of the CIN Editorial Board since 2015. She has published in CIN and the Online Journal of Nursing Informatics. She has also been a co-author on a chapter in the fifth and sixth editions of Essentials of Nursing Informatics, edited by Virginia Saba and Kathleen McCormick.
I would also like to thank Mollie Cummins, PhD, RN, FAAN, for her year of service as the dual editor for ANI Connection/CIN Plus. Dr Cummins was an excellent editor but needed to step down from her role because of changing work commitments. I appreciate her dedication to CIN and ongoing support of the journal.
