Two nursing informatics professionals have been selected by the Alliance for Nursing Informatics (ANI) to participate in the Nursing Informatics Emerging Leaders Program. On the basis of competitive criteria, Stephanie Lambrecht, RN-BC, MSN, MHA, and Po-Yin Yen, PhD, RN, were chosen for this exclusive 2-year program designed to develop professionals capable of assuming national leadership positions in informatics-related organizations.
The ANI and the Nursing Informatics Emerging Leaders Program are jointly sponsored by the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). The program provides emerging leaders with invaluable mentorship and opportunities to participate in educational industry meetings and events. Each is assigned accomplished mentors for dialogue and coaching throughout the process. To succeed in the program, emerging leaders are required to (1) complete a nursing informatics leadership project; (2) attend meetings of the ANI governing directors; (3) participate in the HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition, including the Nursing Informatics Symposium; and (4) participate in the AMIA Annual Symposium.
Stephanie Lambrecht works as an RN Product Manager of Clinical Solutions at Elsevier Publishing (headquartered in Philadelphia, PA). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND; earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix; and is certified in nursing informatics.
"I am currently involved in the very exciting work of coding nursing assessment data to the standardized terminologies of LOINC and SNOMED-CT," said Lambrecht. "I look forward to the day when assessment data are readily shared among facilities and providers with the use of these terminologies."
Lambrecht will be mentored by Mollie Cummins, PhD, RN, FAAN, associate professor and co-specialty director, Nursing Informatics, College of Nursing, and adjunct associate professor, Department of Biomedical Informatics, School of Medicine, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, and Janice Kelly, MS, RN-BC, Syntegrity Business Leader, Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, based in Denver, CO.

"In addition to my program of research, I have been committed to informatics education through mentoring undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral trainees in biomedical and nursing informatics research, and the development of biomedical informatics courses which benefit interdisciplinary trainees from across the OSU community," said Dr Yen.
Dr Yen will be mentored by Michelle Troseth, RN, MSN, DPNAP, FAAN, executive vice president and chief professional practice officer, Elsevier Clinical Solutions, and Susan Hull, RN, MSN, CNIO, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH.
