For eight years, I've worked on an adult acute cardiovascular care unit where teamwork has flourished ("Conflict Engagement: A New Model for Nurses," Perspectives on Leadership, March). It was not until I began working as the interim nurse manager that I realized how much conflict can occur in the workplace.
Conflict resolution is necessary for an organization to be successful, and our nurse leaders must be the driving force behind this.
