Abstract
ABSTRACT: Nursing and nursing's image have undergone dramatic changes throughout history, especially since the time of Florence Nightingale, begging the question: Who is the real nurse of today? Moving forward involves grasping a combined vision of the rich historical Christian roots in nursing and an enriched image of nurses as equal partners in practice, education, and policy making. Nurse educators can use faith-learning integration and interprofessional education, and promote collaborative practice to prepare students to influence nursing's future image.
