Abstract

ABSTRACT: A 28-year-old Hispanic woman presented to the dermatology clinic with a long-standing history of easy bruising accompanied by several episodes of left knee subluxation over the last 2 years. The patient provided cellular phone photographs of numerous erythematous to violaceous macules and patches distributed over her back, arms, and lower legs. The differential diagnoses for this patient's presentation are discussed in this article and include Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, granulomatous slack skin, actinic purpura, and intimate partner violence.
