A brilliant mind,
You were on a higher level, and loved for your unique teaching methods-
A foot swung onto a desk, an eclectic viewpoint, a gentle soul.
How could someone so spectacular cease to be?
Yet the obituary said that you died on a lovely early autumn day, a fast-moving cancer taking over your body.
I wanted to yell, "No, it can't be! Someone like him can never die!"
But cancer did not care who you were, just like it does not care who anyone is.
And here we are, left staring at the void in the world,
At the void in our hearts.
