RESPONSE
Thank you for taking the time to read our article, Information Needed to Support Knowing the Patient. We appreciate your thoughtful response in noting the relationship between our article and study findings, and the pioneering work of Hildegard Peplau and the advances she made in interpersonal relationships and knowing the patient. In response to the point about the information sheets, I believe there may have been a misinterpretation of our findings. We found that the paper-based information sheet was the most valuable, comprehensive, and tangible information source for nurses to know their patients. As a profession, we should be more attentive to these practices and identify ways in which we can continue to support nurses with tools that facilitate knowing the patient at a system or organizational level.
Thank you again for your response.
Kind regards,
