Abstract: A solution to the increased demand for primary care providers is to hire a nurse practitioner (NP). Hiring an NP in a primary care practice has numerous advantages for physicians. This article will discuss those advantages and clarify perceived disadvantages to hiring an NP in the primary care setting.
