Antimicrobial silicone wound dressing approved
Covalon Technologies Ltd. has received FDA approval for its SurgiClear antimicrobial silicone wound dressing, designed to cover skin and protect wounds and wound closure devices, as well as secure other primary dressings to a patient's skin. According to the manufacturer, SurgiClear kills more than 99.9% of bacteria that contact the wound dressing's antimicrobial silicone adhesive. Clinicians can monitor wounds through its clear, waterproof film, so patients can resume normal activity without worrying about contamination or damage to the wound site.

Extension fastening straps for bariatric surgery
Innovative Medical Products, Inc. has introduced optional extension fastening straps for use with the company's Humbles Lap Wrap Positioning Pad to help secure extremely obese patients' arms during bariatric surgery.
