Several Pieces of Good News for JCRP

The Impact Factor-Just as JCRP is on a wave of increasing submissions, likely the greatest number in our history, I would like to share some good news regarding the JCRP Impact Factor and Journal Ranking. Recently released information has indicated that the JCRP Impact Factor increased by 20%, from 1.415 to 1.692. Additionally, in the journal's primary specialty listing, Cardiac & Cardiovascular Systems, the Journal Ranking moved from 72 to 67 among 119 journals. In addition to the Impact Factor, the number of visits to the JCRP website was at a high of just under 12,000, up 9%, for the most recent month where data were available. I would like to take this opportunity to thank authors and the readership of both the print and online versions, as well as the Editorial Staff, for their commitment to JCRP. This has resulted in a growing recognition of the value of JCRP as a provider of systematic review articles and scientific evidence of the use and value of primary and secondary prevention of cardiopulmonary disease.

Editorial Staff-I am pleased to announce that Dr. Larry Hamm has accepted my invitation to become a member of the JCRP Editorial leadership, joining Drs. Brian Carlin, Jerry Fleg, Bonnie Sanderson, Ray Squires, and James Stone, as an Associate Editor. Dr. Hamm is Professor of Exercise Science and Director of the Clinical Exercise Physiology Program in the School of Public Health & Health Services at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Larry has worked in the field of cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular disease prevention for 36 years, 27 years of which were directing clinical programs. Dr. Hamm has served as the program director of various cardiac rehabilitation programs in both hospital-based and private practice cardiology settings, in Minneapolis, MN, at the Toronto Rehabilitation Centre in Canada, and at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

His research interests include clinical exercise testing, cardiac rehabilitation, program delivery models, and special populations. He has authored numerous peerreviewed articles, book chapters, invited publications, and research abstracts, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Resource Manual for Cardiac Rehabilitation. Dr. Hamm is an experienced externally-funded investigator, including 2 federally-funded projects regarding exercise training and cardiovascular risk factors in persons with spinal cord injury. I am pleased to have Dr. Hamm join the JCRP Editorial Team.

As always, I encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions toward our efforts.

Thank for your support of JCRP.
