I couldn't agree more with Maureen Shawn Kennedy in regard to women's access to health services being dependent on the ideologies of our representatives. Politicians are pushing agendas all the time. Some legislate hundreds of millions of dollars in state and federal taxpayer money to support Planned Parenthood Federation (PPF), whereas others legislate for greater transparency and accountability from PPF in exchange for this money. Our focus should be on comparing women's health outcomes across all providers, PPF included, to ensure that our practice is patient centered and based on science, not on politics or ideology.
