It's "Why Wouldn't You Come?"
You know the dates and location of the AACVPR 26th Annual Meeting. In this advance program, you also will learn about the educational and networking opportunities available during the event. You know why you should come; AACVPR offers case study best practices and the latest product offerings from leading vendors. So, why wouldn't you come to the AACVPR 26th Annual Meeting?
AACVPR President, Bonnie Sanderson, RN, PhD, FAACVPR, and President-Elect, Steven W. Lichtman, EdD, FAACVPR, share why this year's AACVPR Annual Meeting provides a unique learning opportunity you certainly will not want to miss.
How many AACVPR Annual Meetings have you attended?
Bonnie: AACVPR just celebrated its 25th Anniversary last year and I was there when the organization began! There were only two meetings that I recall not being able to attend over the years, so my best-guess estimate is 23! Attending AACVPR's annual meeting has always been my top priority among professional conferences.
What can attendees expect to take away from the meeting?
Steve: I would fully expect our attendees to reap wonderful benefits in the areas of education and networking. The AACVPR annual conference is a great place for making valuable business connections, and also is the best place to get the latest clinical and evidence-based information on reimbursement, national policies, cutting-edge scientific information, and best practices.
Participants in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation are a unique breed of individuals: they are thoughtful, humane, caring, intelligent, personable, and fun. What I have taken out of the meetings that I find especially valuable are the interpersonal relations I have developed with colleagues who have become very significant individuals in my life.
What is your favorite aspect of the AACVPR Annual Meeting and why?
Bonnie: My favorite aspect of the AACVPR Annual Meeting is knowing that there are a variety of educational and networking opportunities that will fit my personal and program needs-a variety that can be found at no other meeting. Excellent speakers share their expertise and spark creativity and ideas to increase the quality of care and outcomes in our own programs. Learning about the latest health policy and reimbursement issues is crucial-and more importantly, what we as individuals and programs can do to keep us moving forward. Since my membership spans more than 25 years, many of my colleagues are very good friends! Getting reacquainted with old friends and making new friends through social and networking opportunities is important to me.
It has been a while since AACVPR has visited the West Coast. What will this location bring to the meeting experience?
Bonnie: Southern California and its many attractions are a place where "dreams come true!" We are so excited to offer Anaheim as the backdrop for our AACVPR 26th Annual Meeting. There are many (like me) who will go to the Annual Meeting no matter where it is located due to its historically proven value. However, we all know the challenges in balancing time and dollars in today's environment. The chance to mix professional, personal, and family time in California is truly a bonus, and we hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
Why wouldn't you come to the AACVPR Annual Meeting?
Steve: You wouldn't come to the Annual Meeting if you are not interested in the most comprehensive educational content, state-of-the-art scientific information, hands-on sessions for PFTs and ABIs, cutting-edge legislative and reimbursement information, networking, interacting with industry partners showcasing the latest equipment and accessories, and most of all, FUN. I'll be at my lucky 13th meeting and I hope to see you there!
