West Virginia CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of West Virginia, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Every year
- 12 hours of continuing education
- One time requirement
- 3 hours within one year of initial licensure on best prescribing and drug diversion training for those who prescribe, administer or dispense controlled substances
LPN
- Every year
- 12 hours of continuing education
- One time requirement
- 3 hours within one year of initial licensure on best prescribing and drug diversion training for those who prescribe, administer or dispense controlled substances
Advanced Practice
- Every 2 years
- 24 hours of continuing education
- 12 hours in advanced pharmacology
- 12 hours in clinical management practice including:
- 3 hours within one year of initial licensure on best prescribing and drug diversion training for those who prescribe, administer or dispense controlled substances (one-time requirement)
