Abstract

Mucocutaneous manifestations of human papillomavirus (HPV) are common and vary in presentation, depending on HPV type and anatomical site. It is important for nurses to understand common presentations of HPV on the skin and identify these in practice. This article reviews the epidemiology and pathophysiology of common mucocutaneous manifestations of HPV as well as current treatment recommendations, risk factors, and prevention strategies.
