"Speaking Up for Organ Donors"* was well researched and opened several areas for ethical consideration. However, I was saddened by the author's conclusion, where she reveals her opposition to organ donation. By adding a personal perspective, I feel she could sway indecisive readers and allow them to simply follow her lead rather than struggle with the ethical issues and arrive at their own decision.
I believe she tried to substantiate her position by adding her stance on stem cell research, but has she reviewed the ethics of this research? This ending, which seems to be a cop out, weakens her arguments.
