The 30th Annual Cardiovascular Nursing Symposium, scheduled to take place from April 18 to 20, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, brings together healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing cardiovascular care. This symposium serves as an excellent platform for presenting your work, connecting with cardiovascular and nursing leaders, and expanding your professional network.

Abstract submission is now open, and the deadline is fast approaching. Don't miss the opportunity to share your research and contribute to the collective knowledge of the cardiovascular nursing community. The deadline for abstract submissions is Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:59 PM CT.

The PCNA will only consider original abstracts that have not been previously published or presented elsewhere. We encourage you to review the abstract submission guidelines provided on our website to ensure your submission meets the necessary criteria and aligns with the goals of the symposium.

Dyslipidemia Resources for Healthcare Professionals and Patients

Dyslipidemia diagnosis and management continues to be among the top topic areas of interest to PCNA members. The PCNA has a variety of resources available for both healthcare professionals and their patients, including the 2 newest described below.

Two peer-to-peer videos (approximately 10 minutes each) are available for healthcare professionals to learn more about dyslipidemia. One video focuses on treatment access, whereas the other video emphasizes team-based care. Both videos provide clinical pearls and case studies to help identify, treat, and manage patients with dyslipidemia.

The new patient education tool (available in both print and digital formats) focuses on helping guide clinical conversations and helps patients better understand signs and symptoms of dyslipidemia, understanding the results of a lipid panel, available treatment options, and the role of the patient as a crucial member of the healthcare team.

Both resources are available at pcna.net.

Cardio Connections: Heart Failure and Cardio-oncology

Join PCNA in December 2023 for a day of virtual sessions focused on 2 critical topics for clinical practice: heart failure and cardio-oncology. Sessions will be recorded for those who are unable to attend the live program.

Heart failure sessions will include content on current treatments, the impact of social determinants of health on access to care and adherence, and cardiac rehabilitation programs. Cardio-oncology sessions will highlight current updates in treatments, best practices for team-based care for patients with cancer and with-or at risk for-CVD, and effective patient education.
