"A Call for a More Balanced Approach to Family Presence During a Public Health Emergency" (https://wp.me/p7sy0l-8ca) is a superb blog post about how much nurses have helped families cope with all the social vagaries during the pandemic.
The loss of my beloved sister after eight weeks in the ICU was softened by the ministrations of her nurses (and family on the phone and Zoom), none of whom complained about their strained circumstances. The authors' recommendations to continue person-centered services are spot on. I am so proud of my profession.
