Spring is here and that means Transitions Day! Transitions Day is an acknowledgement of the transition that nurses undergo when they move from bedside nursing to advanced practice nursing. It is a day full of resume review, mock interviews for tips and tricks, contract negotiation, collaborative practice agreements, and more. Last year, for Transitions Day, the UAPRN offered professional headshots, legislation and advocacy training, practice protocol agreements, and a pop-up shop for vendor engagement, gift basket raffles, and networking opportunities! It was a great hit for all our student and new graduate members.
This year the state level of UAPRN and the Atlanta chapter are partnering to bring you an amazing conference May 13-14. We will be having virtual and in-person CME opportunities, skills workshops, as well as Transitions Day portions that will benefit all our members. Registration is live on http://uaprn.org with updates posted often. I am especially looking forward to discussions on polypharmacy in geriatrics, telehealth use updates, and diversity/inclusion in healthcare. I am honored that the American Association of Nurse Practitioners President Dr. April Kapu will be our keynote speaker and give us an update on AANP goals for the coming year.
As we experience the transition of spring, let's reflect on the transitions we-and our colleagues-may be experiencing as well. Let's also show up with a desire to learn from those more experienced and a desire to mentor those less experienced. If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out to me at the email below or follow me on our website at http://uaprnofga.org. I am excited about the transitioning seasons as well as our upcoming events!
