The journal garnered five awards this year from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors. In the editorial category, Nursing Management took home the gold award for best special supplement for IT Solutions; the silver award in the best regular column, contributed, category for Roy Simpson's Information Technology; and the silver award in the best special report/section category for the 2003 Salary Survey.

In the graphics category, the journal earned the silver award in the best cover, illustrated, category for its May 2003 issue, and the bronze award in the best cover, photo, category for the April 2003 issue.
