Concurrently, Kay Clevenger, RN, will present "The Leader as Retention Specialist: Champion Nurse Satisfaction for Your Unit's Success."
Sherrod will also present "Developing an Educational Pipeline," which details innovative strategies and models for forging partnerships with nursing schools. Nursing Management 's Editor-in-Chief, Richard Hader, RN, PhD, CNA, CHE, CPHQ, will delineate the "Forces of Magnetism" that have proven to be key recruitment and retention strategies.
Later in the day, G. Rumay Alexander, RN, BSN, MSN, EdD, will address diversity in the workplace. Last year, her presentation filled the room and got the audience to its feet. "[She] walked us through cultural diversity utilizing music," says Ann Marie Frazier, RN, MSN, CNA. "Needless to say, we did have fun, we saw the humor, sang a few songs, and were able to depart with a better understanding of the diversity on our units."
