* Contreet Hydrocolloid, Nonadhesive Foam, and Adhesive Foam Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings. Contreet dressings demonstrate in vitro antibacterial barrier activity for up to 7 days in bacterial strains known to be detrimental to wound healing. The dressings are based on hydroactivated ionic silver technology, in which the ionic silver is liberated from its carrier during an exchange with the sodium and potassium ions normally found in wound exudate. Both Contreet Hydrocolloid and Contreet Adhesive Foam Dressings incorporate the advantages of moist wound healing with sustained antibacterial activity, effective exudate management, moisture control for optimal wound healing, and a physical barrier against airborne contamination in an easy-to-use dressing. In addition, Contreet dressings offer the benefits of silver technology without the need for lengthy preparation or the necessity of a secondary dressing. Indicated for chronic and acute wounds, specifically leg ulcers and pressure ulcers, Contreet Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings can also be used for partial-thickness burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds, and skin abrasions. Contreet dressings are also indicated for wounds that are colonized, wounds at risk of infection, and infected wounds.

Aloetouch Surgical Glove Coated with Aloe Vera. The first surgical glove coated on the inside with aloe vera, the Aloetouch Surgical Glove is an extension of the Aloetouch exam glove, introduced 3 years ago to moisturize dried, chapped skin associated with frequent glove changes and hand washing. Made from a patented manufacturing process, aloe vera is applied to the entire interior surface of the glove, then dried. As the health care worker wears the glove, his or her body heat activates the aloe vera, coating the hands. The glove is powder-free, nonchlorinated, low-protein, and features a curved finger design and beaded cuff. Its interior coating of state-of-the-art polymer allows for easy donning and smooth double gloving with dry or damp hands.
