Are you still successful with your new year's resolutions? The Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) hopes that one of your resolutions was to become more active within the organization and, if you are looking for ways to do that, now is the time to take action.

It isn't too late to join the Society in New Orleans in a few days for our annual conference. What could be better than New Orleans in April: beignets and coffee on the French Quarter, the most authentic jazz music anywhere in the world, and the most renowned trauma conference anywhere? This is your chance to be all about you and your trauma interests. With networking opportunities galore, a wide array of educational opportunities, and social events, the STN annual conference is chock full of excellent opportunities for you. STN is also celebrating excellence in trauma nursing with the celebration of Pat Manion as the recipient of the distinguished lectureship award. Beyond the annual conference, there are preconference sessions and special interest group opportunities for you to become involved with. There is something for everyone in New Orleans this year and we hope that the STN annual conference is a 1 part of your new year's resolution to make an impact in trauma care across the world. Go to our Web site (http://www.traumanursesociety.org) to find out more and make your reservation to join us.

Can't join us in New Orleans this year? The Society has many different opportunities for you to be involved. The Special Interest Groups are working hard to bring value to your membership-join one (or more) today and have a voice in where your organization is headed in patient care and programming within trauma programs. TOPIC and OPTIMAL courses will continue to be offered across the country throughout the year. Watch the Web site for information on the ATS collaboration on an injury-prevention coordinator course as well as the progress of the trauma nurse certification examination. The SLIP program for fall prevention and e-library are additional resources available to you. The Society also has a mentoring program if you are new to your role or your role is changing and you have questions or concerns-mentoring is a great way to explore options or processes that others have used that might work for you.

The STN wishes you and yours a prosperous and healthy 2014-we hope to see you and to hear from you throughout the year. It is, as always, a pleasure to serve you, our membership-you are why we do what we do.
