As an executive member of the Board of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN), I have had the pleasure of working with some of the brightest and visionary nurses in trauma leadership internationally. So many changes and accomplishments have been implemented or are currently in the formulation process in the past 2 years, I hardly know where to start. By the time this article is published, the Executive Board will have undergone the change of leadership and you will have received that information. I would like to take a moment to thank the leaders I have been honored to serve with for the past several years in various roles on the Board: Karen Doyle, President; Melissa Harte, Immediate Past President; and under my tenure; past President Elizabeth Seislove, Treasurer Julie Nash, and so many more. I have learned so much and I know that my involvement in the STN will always be evolving, as it is for many of you.

Also by the time this article is published, many of you will have already purchased the new ELibrary of Trauma Lectures and used this as a tool for your trauma nursing staff. The efforts by all those who contributed to this endeavor are included in the introduction of the DVD. This is by far our finest endeavor for overall trauma education to date. As we move forward with trauma nurses education, we will see the actualization of a Trauma Nurse Certification in collaboration with the Board of Certification of Emergency Nursing, with the goal of 2015. This will be the course that complements certifications that many of you already hold: Certified emergency nurse, critical care registered nurse, which includes pediatric certifications as well. It has been a pleasure to meet so many of you during conferences and subcommittee phone conferences. Please continue to participate in this fine organization, and welcome to your new Secretary on the Board, Karen Macauley. Remember to visit the STN Web site: http://www.traumanurses.org and mark your calendars for the 17th Annual STN Conference, which will return to "Cajun Country," New Orleans, Louisiana. The dates for the conference have been set for April 2 through 4, 2014. The City of New Orleans has undergone a massive and historic rebuilding effort following one of the greatest natural disasters in American history; Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The conference will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans, so please keep checking the Web site for more details as they develop.
