Abstract
Although level I trauma centers are required to participate in injury prevention activities, there is little assessment of injury prevention efforts in trauma centers, especially at the state level. Through a 4-part survey completed by Pennsylvania trauma center coordinators, this study surveys the injury prevention activities at Pennsylvania level I trauma centers, identifies the training needs of Pennsylvania trauma center professionals, and determines barriers to conducting injury prevention activities. The survey highlighted the need for evaluation, collaboration, funding, and personnel to assess, assist with, and improve the injury prevention efforts of Pennsylvania level I trauma centers.
