Abstract
This study aims to clarify factors affecting Ethiopian women's decision to report domestic violence. Quantitative methods were used, and a structured questionnaire was completed by a convenience sample of 100 Ethiopian women. Findings show that 38% of abused Ethiopian women did not report the abuse. Decisions to do so were influenced by family and social welfare worker support but not by women's attitudes and beliefs on violence and its disclosure. The Theory of Reasoned Action only partially predicts intention to report violence. There is need for programs increasing awareness and eradication of violence within the Ethiopian community.
