Abstract
The trauma program at a level 1 adult trauma center identified a need for a standardized approach at screening the trauma patient for posttraumatic stress and quality of life post injury. Utilizing a multidisciplinary team, a process of screening the patients prior to discharge and 6 months after discharge was developed. A mechanism for tracking the screening results in the trauma registry has led to appropriate interventions and follow-up of cases. An additional benefit of using the trauma registry is for potential future research on the subject.
