Washington CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of Washington, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Annually
- Active nursing practice: 8 hours of continuing education and 96 hours of active practice
- 2 hours of health equity training
- One time requirement completed by the end of the first full year of practice
- 6 hours on suicide assessment, treatment, and management
LPN
- Annually
- Active nursing practice: 8 hours of continuing education and 96 hours of active practice
- 2 hours of health equity training
- One time requirement completed by the end of the first full year of practice
- 6 hours on suicide assessment, treatment, and management; must be an approved course
Advanced Practice
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education in specialty area
- Additional 15 hours of continuing education in pharmacology for ARNP with prescriptive authority
- One time requirement completed by the end of the first full year of practice
- 6 hours on suicide assessment, treatment, and management; must be an approved course
