Pennsylvania CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of Pennsylvania, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education, including 2 hours of approved training on the topic of child abuse recognition and reporting (3 hours for initial licensure)
LPN
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education, including 2 hours of approved training on the topic of child abuse recognition and reporting (3 hours for initial licensure)
Advanced Practice
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education, including 2 hours of approved training on the topic of child abuse recognition and reporting (3 hours for initial licensure)
- 2 hours in pain management or the identification of addiction or in the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids for CRNPs with prescriptive authority (as a portion of the total continuing education required)
[*If you do not have a DEA registration and do not use another person or entity’s DEA registration to prescribe any controlled substances, you do not need to complete this CE requirement.]
